President Trump recently tweeted that he wanted something done about Hillary Clinton’s corruption with the DNC. However, according to Lindsey Graham, just suggesting something like that is “crossing the line”.
“Everybody is asking why the Justice Department (and FBI) isn’t looking into all of the dishonesty going on with Crooked Hillary & the Dems. New Donna B book says she paid for and stole the Dem Primary. What about the deleted E-mails, Uranium, Podesta, the Server, plus, plus People are angry. At some point the Justice Department, and the FBI, must do what is right and proper. The American public deserves it!” tweeted President Trump.
“The president of the United States is in charge of the executive branch, it’s not his job to be telling the attorney general to be prosecuting a particular individual or group. It is the attorney general’s job to do that independent,” said Graham during an interview on Fox News Sunday.
“We have a rule of law that is independent of political influence, and when you call on your attorney general to prosecute your former opponent, that is crossing the line,” said Graham.
He wasn’t the only one to take offense by this. Morning Joe’s John Heilemann called President Trump an “authoritarian dictator.” “He is frustrated by the fact that he can’t behave like an authoritarian dictator. He’s getting pretty close to it again saying I can’t do anything with the department and the FBI, but go FBI and Justice Department, making his preferences clear,” said Heilemann.
